Why Nest Aesthetics exists

The supporting material beneath an attractive surface interests me; accounts that make the building work sound effortless leave me sceptical.

The name and the subject

A nest is an arrangement of material around something alive. I like the care implied by that image: fibres put into relation with one another, a structure that earns its shape through what it supports. It gives aesthetics a subject beyond a polished exterior.

At Nest Aesthetics, I spend time with published research into skin, GHK-Cu and related GHK findings. The collagen experiment attracted me because it describes cells making more of a particular material. The tissue-remodeling review widens that interest to repair.

I am inclined to admire a precise experiment before an expansive theory. I can also enjoy an ambitious idea, provided its uncertainty remains attached. The pleasure here comes from looking closely enough for a subject to get stranger, rather than more neatly resolved.

An editorial title

The name identifies this site. There is no clinic or treatment business here, and no appointments, prescriptions or products are available through it.

No medical advice is available here. An essay cannot assess someone’s skin, medical history or suitability for a procedure. Decisions about care need a qualified professional who can consider the person involved.

The distinction matters particularly on a site with aesthetics in its name. A reader deserves to know what kind of place they have reached before deciding what weight to give its arguments. Here there are papers and a point of view, with no clinical relationship on the other side of the screen.

Room for disagreement

The combination hair trial gives me a useful point of uncertainty: how much of a reported result can be attributed to GHK when the preparation contains 5-aminolevulinic acid as well? I would learn more from resolving that attribution than from defending a favourable verdict.

A result can disappoint an expectation and still improve an understanding. A replication that changes the balance of the argument would be welcome. Spending time with a particular experiment gives an opinion somewhere specific to be revised. The contact page states the current correspondence arrangements.
